How do I post to this site?

Please read everything on this page first.  Thanks!

Create an account (it's quick and easy).

Make sure you check your junk mail folder for the confirmation email.

Log into the site.

Navigate to the Open Journal, Concentrations or Profiles.

PLEASE make sure you closely follow our style and formatting guidelines.

You can upload and link to an MP3 by clicking the link icon (in the text editor) and then by clicking the upload button within the link editor.  This site utilizes the Yahoo Media Player.  A play button will appear next to any link/url that links to an MP3.

Once you have logged in, look for the little black button that says 'post new entry'.  See image below.

What goes into a profile?

Please use the guidelines below to create a profile for this site.
Please follow ALL our posting instructions when you finally post.

  1. Please put your name + a dash + a title or relevant callout into the post title.
  2. Consider listing your current title and a description of your current occupation.
  3. If you are a BDIC student or alumni, please briefly describe your concentration.
  4. Please include your year of graduation.
  5. If you have a concentration on this site, please link to it.
  6. Consider describing the impact BDIC has had on your life.
  7. Consider briefly describing your current goals (life and business objectives).
  8. Consider posting a very brief, encapsulated version of your resume.
  9. Consider listing your contact details and links to other sites where you can be found.

Style and Formatting Guidelines

Please closely follow our Style and Formatting Guidelines:

Step one - Please strip out all of the styling and formatting that was attached to your text by your word processor.  If you are not sure how remove formatting/styling by saving your document as plain text, go to our Formatting and Style Remover page.  Paste and re-copy your text will all of the styling and formatting removed.

Step two - Please read and follow the bullets below:

  • If you are embedding anything (such as a video) make sure it is no wider than 530 pixels.
  • If you are inserting an image, please make sure it is no wider than 530 pixels first.
  • Do not enlarge any of your fonts.
  • Please do not bold or italicize more text than you absolutely need to.
  • Please properly attribute all works owned by others.
  • If your post is taller than four inches, please excerpt your post by pressing the excerpt icon on the right side of the text editor.
  • Please make an attempt to properly tag and categorize your posts.

Design My Major is committed to preserving and maintaining the privacy of visitors of this website.
