Sustainable Food Management

Tuesday, August 24, 2010 I was hopeless before I knew about BDIC because I was majoring in Mathematics and Astronomy and I just did not see myself in that path. I went the summer of 2007 to Puerto Rico, where I grew up, and I spent most of my time there with my grandmother watching the cooking shows on the television and cooking most of the day. When I came back from my trip, I had an epiphany, I want to cook for the rest of my life! During my sophomore year, I went to my friend and told him I was going to drop out from UMass and go to culinary school, but I was very sad because I fought a lot to get into UMass and it would hurt me to just leave it. My friend, Manny Lopez, became my savior and sat down with me and helped me pick courses that can fit to my dreams of owning a sustainable restaurants that promotes the Caribbean culture which I love. I have to say that being part of the BDIC program was the best decision I had ever made and all my dreams are coming true thanks to this program.
The departments I am taking courses are Plant, Soil and Insects, Food Science, Management and Hospitality and Tourism Management. I have done independent studies. During the summer of 2009, I worked with the Nonprofit organization call Nuestras Raices in Holyoke, MA. There, I worked closely with the Economic Development Director in which I was in charge of the Board of Health of MA, for the businesses that are sponsored and started by Nuestras Raices. The other independent study occurred in spring 2010 and I worked with the Prof. Catherine Sands in the evaluation of the nonprofit organization Nuestras Raices for the Kellogg's grant. In this I learn about different ways of evaluation and the time and great work that is done by the non-profits organization. I also learn about grants that nonprofit organizations can apply to and how. The courses I have taken have been great and with these courses, I am taking steps to my dream. I am also majoring in Spanish because this has been my first language and I want to keep learning more about it. By majoring in Spanish, it has help me understand more about different cultures which is the main theme that I want to imply to my BDIC concentration.
I am more than honored to say that I am a BDIC students and I have to say, I love to explain to others what BDIC is, and what is my concentration. I am very unique and BDIC has done nothing but help me to develop and express my uniqueness.

There are many foods that increase cholesterol levels and you should avoid them as most of them are also bad for your figure. For example, butter and similar fatty products we use for cooking. These products have a high concentration on fat that together with other fat we take during the day can increase the total fat levels very much vgbwmj vgbwmj - North Face Coats Sale.
