Graphic Communication

The interdisciplinary nature of the BDIC program allowed me to combine several areas of study I enjoy into a single concentration titled “Graphic Communication.”  My track was completed by taking courses in the Art, Computer Science, and Communication Departments.  My courses focused on the creation of various forms of multimedia including video editing, motion/animation, web development, and graphic design.  I also pursued experience outside of the classroom.  I worked as the BDIC webmaster for three semesters, interned at an off campus non-profit, and designed various official UMass Amherst web sites.  With the knowledge I have gained through the courses, internships and “real-world” experience I look forward to a career working in a multimedia design field.  Multimedia design has been a passion of mine for as long as I could remember and BDIC has given me the opportunity to take it to a professional level.
